ABOUT SQUARE DANCE LESSONS:

The club hosts free "No Experience Necessary" Community Square Dances twice per year (September and January) one week prior to the official start of Beginning Square Dance lessons in October and February.

Lessons are typically 90 minutes in length and initially run for 10-12 weeks at a nominal cost. New dancers will have learned about 50 square dance calls during that period. These new dancers are then encouraged to continue coming to classes to learn the remaining 20 or so "Mainstream" calls which will enable them to dance just about anywhere in the country. They are also encouraged to "angel" (volunteer to help the next class of beginning dancers) for subsequent beginners classes.

Check the Swingnuts' calendar, or go to the Rainier Council's  Classes Page  for details, including lesson information with other clubs in our council.
